Why Sales?
My interest in sales began when I worked as a Vacation Planner at Universal Orlando Resort. Working in vacation planning takes an enthusiastic and hardworking individual as it is your job to address guests, resolve problems, and help them achieve their best Universal experience. As a Vacation Planner, it is our job to figure out the wants and needs of guests and then present them with the options that will fulfill as many of them, if not all, as possible.
I always loved being the one to help guests plan their vacations. The process of planning vacations, or even short visits, can be stressful for guests as they are trying to ensure they get the option that best fits them, their situation, and their wants and needs. Being able to relieve that stress and walk them through the different aspects of their stay from hotels, theme park tickets, and dining options is always something I enjoyed. In the process of helping guests plan their vacations, I would often build relationships, explain different vacation options, and discuss and negotiate prices. While I loved my job, what I loved was the sales process.
This job helped me realize my passion for sales. It helped me to realize that this is something I want to pursue as a career. And it is ultimately what made me interested in the Professional Selling Program.
